Description

The walling and gate piers at the road frontage of the former Christ Church and the Old Vicarage were built in 1838 by John Pinch the Younger. The structure features tall gabled ashlar piers and paired ornamental railed gates topped with spear capping. There is a similar, though narrower, gateway leading to Christ Church. A rubble wall with rough-hewn coping extends approximately 93 meters along the road frontage. At the south end, there is a railed pedestrian gateway with cast-iron piers.
