Description

Downside House is a house dating from the 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with a slate roof and coped verges. The building features two pairs of polygonal stone stacks with caps. The symmetrical two-storey front has five bays, with 2-light casements set in moulded stone architraves. The central window on the first floor has a semi-circular head, which is highlighted by imposts and a keystone. The central door opening has an architrave with double half-glazed doors and a triangular pediment supported by brackets.
