Description
Eagle House is an 18th-century house located on the east side of The Street in Chilcompton. It is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with a concrete double-Roman tile roof and rendered stacks. The building features a symmetrical frontage with two storeys and three bays. The windows are casements set in moulded stone architraves, with a semi-circular head above the window located over the central door. The central panelled door is framed by a stone doorcase that includes a pulvinated frieze and a pediment supported by Roman-Doric half-columns. At the apex of the pediment, there is a later stone eagle with outspread wings.
