Description
The Hollies is an 18th-century house located on the west side of The Street in Chilcompton. It features a roughcast exterior with alternating dressed quoins, coped verges, and an asbestos slate roof, along with end brick stacks. The building is two storeys high with an attic and consists of three bays. It has two and three-light moulded stone-mullioned windows with cornice drips, and a Venetian window in the center of the first floor. The outer first-floor windows have iron casements with painted leaded lights, while the Venetian window has casements and Gothick double-hung sash. The ground floor windows are simple casements. The central door opening is framed by a moulded freestone surround and features paired three-quarter glazed 20th-century doors topped with a triangular pediment supported by brackets.
