Description

The gate piers at the entrance to Armley Park are a set of seven, dating from the late 19th century. They are constructed from ashlar and have a square section, standing approximately 3 meters high. The three central piers are taller than the four outer ones. The piers feature vermiculated rustication at the plinth, along with lozenge and floral cross motifs. Each pier has a moulded cornice and cusped arches at the capstone, with the Leeds coat of arms carved on the face facing the road. The gates are currently missing.
