Description
The Malt Shovel Public House is a former public house located on Crab Lane in Armley, Leeds. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of coursed stone with a low-pitched stone slate roof. The building features quoins and is two storeys high with a layout of three bays plus one. The windows are two-light sashes set in plain stone surrounds, with a single-light window in the centre of the first floor. The central entrance door has an overlight and is topped with a cornice supported by console brackets. The left bay includes a blocked loading door and a small window on the first floor. There is a rebuilt stack on the right side, with two stacks located at the rear of the ridge, one at the centre and one on the left. At the rear, there is a semicircular bay window with three sashes in the centre, a keyed round arch above a stair window, and additional three and four-light mullioned windows, along with a doorway on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
