Description

The South Lodge at Roundhay Hall Hospital is a mid-19th century lodge built in the Italianate style. It is a single-storey structure with three bays, constructed from ashlar stone and featuring a low-pitched slate roof. The gable ends are designed as pediments, and the building has wide coved eaves. The central bay is semicircular and contains three round-headed windows, topped with a low-pitched conical roof that projects outward and is supported by slim square columns. All the windows have moulded arches, and the central bay is accented with pilasters and sash windows that include glazing bars. The stone chimney stacks have two shafts connected by round arches and are topped with cornices. At the western end, there is a porch with a pediment and a round arch doorway. The interior has not been inspected.
