Description

A barn or coach house and stable range, likely dating from the later 18th century and subsequently altered. Constructed from squared sandstone with a stone slate roof, the building has a rectangular plan and is arranged over two storeys with seven bays, the middle bay being slightly taller and projecting. The north and south facades are identical. The central bay features a tall, elliptical-headed wagon archway, a band at eaves level, an oculus, and a pyramidal roof. Each flanking range incorporates a round-headed doorway centrally, with two square windows at ground floor level and three above. Some openings have been blocked and reduced to narrow slits, or are damaged and lack glazing. The roof is hipped. Internally, the wagon passage is flanked by round-headed, two-bay arcades on both sides.
