Description

Manor Farm Barn is a barn that likely dates back to the early 18th century, retaining its gables, rear wall, and trusses from that period, while the front wall was added around 1800. The earliest construction features thin coursed rubble and rock-faced stone at the front, topped with a Welsh blue-slate roof. The barn consists of four bays, with a cart entry located in the second bay, which has a monolithic lintel. The third bay includes a window with a monolithic lintel and sill. Gutter brackets are present, and the right-hand return wall has two triangular-shaped breather holes and a rectangular pitching hole at the apex.

Inside, the barn features king-post trusses with slightly curved principals and tie-beams that have half-lap joints, which may have been reused from an earlier cruck-framed building. There are no braces at the ridge, although the king-posts have mortices for them. The rafters date to around 1800.
