Description
Toll gate located outside Toll-Bar Cottage, dating from around 1850. It is made of cast and wrought iron and features a pair of tall circular gate piers topped with conical shapes. These are flanked by high fence panels made of wrought iron, which display a diamond lattice pattern, along with outer circular piers. The toll gate was built to serve the Turnpike Road from Dewsbury to Leeds, which received approval in 1841 and was constructed after 1850.
