Description

The Railway Viaduct on the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway line was opened in 1848. It is constructed from rock-faced stone with dressed stone vaults and features 16 arches supported by slender piers. The viaduct has a moulded impost band and a large moulded ashlar base at the parapet. There is a later adjoining viaduct on the east side, which is not included in this listing.
