Description

This is an 1820s weaver’s house, part of a row, located on Radcliffe Road in Slaithwaite. The building is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and has a pitched stone slate roof with coped gables and stone brackets. The south elevation features three storeys of mullioned windows. The ground floor has a doorway with a stone surround, a three-light and a two-light stone mullioned window. A modern porch and a small lean-to stone extension have been added. The first floor has a four-light and a two-light stone mullioned window. A stone plaque displaying "B M A 1820" is positioned on the first floor. The second floor features a ten-light stone mullioned window. The north elevation has a low doorway with a stone surround on the first floor and a single-light window with a stone surround on the second floor, where a mullion may have been removed. The ground floor of the north elevation is built directly onto the earth.
