Description

The buildings at 3 and 4 Jim Hill, Slaithwaite, are a pair of houses dating to the late 18th or early 19th century. They are constructed of hammer-dressed stone, with a pitched roof covered in stone slate and bitumen. The south-east elevation features, on the ground floor, a four-light mullioned window and a six-light mullioned window, where two of the lights have been blocked. There are two entrances with stone surrounds, one of which has a later porch. The first floor of number 3 originally had a nine-light mullioned window, now divided into two three-light mullioned windows, with the end and central lights blocked. A continuous sill runs along the first floor. Number 4 has three-light mullioned windows. The north-west elevation displays two two-light mullioned windows, one of which has a removed mullion, and a two-storey lean-to extension with a catslide roof, featuring two two-light mullioned windows.
