Description
Nos 309 and 311 on Radcliffe Road are a pair of terraced cottages built in 1820, as indicated by a datestone. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a pitched stone slate roof, with a moulded stone gutter supported by stone brackets. The cottages are two storeys high with a basement.
On the south elevation, the basement has two 2-light stone mullioned windows. The ground floor includes an entrance with stone surrounds and tie-stones, along with one 4-light stone mullioned window. The first floor has two 3-light stone mullioned windows. Each cottage displays a stone plaque with initials and the date: No 309 has "P S W" and No 311 has "H J P", both dated 1820.
The north elevation has a basement and ground floor that are back to earth, while the first floor features two 2-light stone mullioned windows, which are blocked.
