Description
Crimble Viaduct is a railway viaduct built in two halves around 1845 and 1890. It features slightly rock-faced stone with large course ashlar and rusticated dressings. The structure consists of two side-by-side viaducts, each carrying two tracks, and has 19 arches. The piers are slightly battered, and there is a large ashlar string at the springing of the arches and at the base of the parapet. The parapet is topped with ashlar coping, and there are battered piers at the east end. A massive retaining wall is located at the west end.
