Description
This listing describes a pair of back-to-back cottages located at 1 and 3 Linfit Fold, dating from the early 19th century, with an extension added in the mid-19th century. The cottages are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a pitched stone slate roof, standing two stories tall.
On the south elevation, the ground floor includes two doorways with stone surrounds, one of which is partially blocked. There are also a three-light stone mullioned window, a two-light stone mullioned window, and a single light window with a stone surround. The first floor has a three-light stone mullioned window, a two-light stone mullioned window, and two single light windows, all with stone surrounds.
The north elevation, which corresponds to the mid-19th century extension (Nos 1092 and 1093 Manchester Road), has a continuous roof. The ground floor features two entrances with stone surrounds, a two-light stone mullioned window, and a single light window. The first floor has a two-light stone mullioned window and three single light windows, one of which has a stone surround.
