Description
Nos 20 and 22 on Main Street are a pair of cottages built around 1800. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a stone slate roof. The cottages are two storeys high with a symmetrical facade and two first-floor windows. The right side has quoins and a deep ashlar plinth. There are paired central doorways that are accessed by a short flight of two well-dressed steps. These doorways have base blocks, monolithic jambs, imposts, a keyed archivolt, and glazed fanlights. The windows have wedge-shaped lintels that are painted, with false voussoirs and projecting sills, although the glazing has been altered. There is a rendered gable stack to the left and a stack shared with No 18 on the right gable.
