Description
Nos 17 and 19 on Station Road are a pair of cottages that originated as an early 18th-century house, which was altered and converted into two cottages around 1780 to 1790. The building is constructed from hammer-dressed stone with dressed quoins and features a stone slate roof. It stands two storeys high and has three bays of flat-faced mullioned windows. Each floor has windows with slightly recessed mullions, featuring three lights on the ground floor and four lights above. The doorways are set between the bays and have simple triangular pediments made from projecting slabs. The doorway to No 17 has interrupted jambs, while the doorway to No 19 has a chamfered edge on the lintel, indicating it was likely part of the earlier house. The building also has gable ridge stacks.
