Description
1 and 2 Mountain Cottages are a pair of cottages built in the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the late 18th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a stone slate roof. The cottages are two storeys high and have quoins at the right-hand end. There are two centrally placed doorways, each with square reveals and five-light windows above. To the left, there is a flat-faced mullioned window with an overlapping lintel, consisting of four lights with a matching window above, as well as a doorway of 19th-century style with tie stones and a single light window above it. A central stack rises from the ridge. The right-hand return wall has a three-light mullioned window with solid square reveals on the first floor. The gable is coped and includes kneelers.
