Description
The Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, dated 1824 with a sundial from 1832, is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. It is a two-storey building with a symmetrical facade that has five bays. The windows are semicircular-arched and have voussoirs. Above the central window, which contains stained glass, is a sundial inscribed with "Consider how short Life is 1832 LAT53-48 DECL12-40," and there is a rectangular date plaque under the eaves. The second and fourth bays contain doorways with tie-stone jambs, consoles, and a projecting cornice. The building has an eaves band and a hipped roof. The rear features two arched windows with stained glass on the first floor and a lateral stack. The left and right-hand returns have five bays of arched windows on the first floor and four bays on the ground floor. The chapel is prominently located in the center of the village.
