Description
No. 8 Town Gate is an end-of-terrace house that was formerly two dwellings, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof supported by stone brackets. The building has two rendered chimney stacks and stands three storeys tall, with two storeys at the rear. The ground floor has been altered to include a large garage doorway, a small doorway, and one single light. On the first floor, there are three single lights, while the second floor boasts a prominent nine-light stone mullioned window with a continuous raised sill. The rear elevation features a nine-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor, although two of its lights are blocked. The first floor has two single lights and one later window. In the right gable apex, there is a small light with a pointed arch and tabling.
