Description
No. 22 is a house in a terrace located on West Street in Corfe Castle, dating from the 17th century. It features rubble stone walls and a stone slate roof with stone end stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic. At the left end, there is a projecting two-storey porch with a hipped roof, which has a part-glazed 20th-century door set in a depressed four-centred arch.
On the ground floor, there are two three-light and one two-light stone mullioned windows with casements, along with a small low-level window at the right end. The first floor contains two three-light and one two-light stone mullioned windows. The attic features two gabled dormers with plain casements.
There is a short rear wing at the right end, which was formerly a staircase tower, while the rear wing at the left end has been largely rebuilt. A large open fireplace at the right end has also been rebuilt.
