Description

No 1 Town Gate is a house that is part of a row, dating from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features quoins and a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and a symmetrical facade, which includes a central door flanked by a 4-light double chamfered window on each floor. Notably, all the mullions have been removed from the windows. The elevation facing the road has a central doorway with a deep lintel and a false flat arch above it. Additionally, there are two mid-19th century single lights on the first floor.
