Description

The building comprises two farmhouses and a barn, dated 1772 as evidenced by a datestone. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone, thinly coursed, with quoins. The roof is of pitched stone slate, with gable copings on moulded footstones to the west and carved footstones to the east. A central stack features a string course and water tabling, and occasional moulded stone brackets are present on the south elevation.

The south elevation of the house has two ground-floor entrances, one blocked and the other within a modern porch, both with stone surrounds and tie-stones. There are two 4-light stone mullioned windows recessed on the ground floor, one with side mullions removed, and a third 4-light stone mullioned window recessed with its central mullion removed and side lights blocked. The first floor has three 4-light recessed stone mullioned windows, each retaining one mullion. The north elevation has an entrance with stone surrounds, and various single-light windows with pronounced stone surrounds to the upper floor.

The barn's south elevation features a large central doorway with a segmental arched head and pronounced keystone, partially blocked to form a smaller doorway and single light. Rooflights are present on the south pitch. One 2-light stone mullioned window with the mullion removed is visible, along with a small single light on the first floor. The north elevation features a large doorway with a segmental arched head, pronounced keystone, and quoins, alongside a smaller entrance with stone surrounds.
