Description
A farmhouse and barn of mid-18th century origin, with a vernacular revival front, possibly incorporating earlier fabric. The building is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with some quoins, and has a pitched stone slate roof with coped gables, and stone brackets to the south elevation. A tall stack is located at eaves, likely added later. The south elevation of the house has a ground floor entrance with stone surrounds, a Tudor arched head, chamfered reveals, and a fanlight. There is a four-light stone mullioned window with chamfered surrounds and mullions, and a hood mould above. The first floor features a four-light stone mullioned window and a single-light window, both with chamfered details. The north elevation has, on the ground floor, two two-light stone mullioned windows, and on the first floor, a blocked three-light stone mullioned window, and a two-light stone mullioned window. The barn’s south elevation has a large central doorway with a semicircular arched head, stone surrounds, and tie-stones, with a Venetian window above. A smaller doorway also has stone surrounds and tie-stones. The north elevation features two vents, while the west gable has later openings. The east gable has two recessed two-light stone mullioned windows on the first floor, with chamfered mullions and surrounds. Later rubble outbuildings are situated to the south.
