Description

This is a 17th-century barn located 100 yards north of Blake House, constructed with timber framing and hammer-dressed stone, featuring quoins and a recent asbestos roof. The barn has a square-headed cart entrance in the second bay, with an additional entrance on the opposite wall. There are chamfered ventilation slits present. A late 18th-century addition is positioned at a right angle to the main structure. Inside, the barn has a four-bay layout supported by three king-post trusses, which include struts and wind bracing up to the ridge. The posts are jowelled and feature bracing to the tie-beam and arcade plates, along with lever holes at the base. There are aisles on each side, but no aisle ties or wall plates.
