Description

Number 1 and the adjoining barn are early to mid 19th century structures located on Crow Trees Road in West Slaithwaite. The cottage and barn are built from hammer-dressed stone and feature a pitched stone slate roof. The barn has a stone ball and stalk finial on its southwest gable.

The southeast elevation of the cottage has a ground floor entrance with a stone surround and a four-light stone mullioned window. On the first floor, there is a six-light stone mullioned window. The barn's southeast elevation includes a large central doorway with a deep lintel and quoins, a small vent with a semi-circular arched head above it, and a small doorway also with quoins. The southwest gable of the barn features a circular vent at the apex.
