Outbuilding 20 Metres North West Of Hartley Royd Farmhouse

This outbuilding, located 20 meters northwest of Hartley Royd Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the late 18th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and consists of two cells.

The first cell includes a three-light, thin flat-faced mullioned window, with a two-light window above it. The second cell has paired doorways, with the right doorway blocked to create a two-light window. Both doorways have chamfered composite jambs and heavy lintels, one of which is inscribed with "IMF 1671." Above these doorways is a two-light chamfered mullioned window. Between the first-floor windows, there is a columbarium. The building has coped gables with kneelers and a stack on the left gable. There is also a blocked taking-in door on the right-hand return wall. The outbuilding is listed for its group value with the farmhouse.
