Description

Shore Baptist Church and Sunday School is a church founded in 1777, with enlargements made in 1833 and 1871. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. The building is L-shaped, with the cross-wing serving as the church. The southeast gable is designed in a monumental style with a pediment, showcasing a combination of Italianate and Romanesque elements from the latest phase of its design. It features shafted round arched twin portals and a large round arched window on the first floor. The single-storey section to the west, now the Sunday school, retains the original entrance front with squared surround windows and round arched windows. The doorway includes a block impost and keystone. Inside, the church is galleried and contains good contemporary furnishings from around 1871.
