Description
Frieldhurst Farmhouse and Frieldhurst Cottage is a house now divided into two occupations, dating from the early 18th century, possibly built around the same time as the nearby barn dated 1721. The structure is made of hammer-dressed stone with a slate roof on the front and stone slate on the rear. It has two storeys and features quoins.
The south front includes a double chamfered mullioned window with five lights and a king mullion, along with a five-light window above in the first cell. The second cell has a former six-light window that has been reduced to four wide lights with a king mullion. Above these are additional windows with three lights and two lights. The house has tall dressed gable stacks, and the gable entry is covered by a 19th-century gabled extension that is single storey and includes a stack at the gable.
On the rear, there is a 19th-century lean-to built in watershot masonry, featuring a broad flat-faced mullioned window with three unevenly sized lights and a doorway with a single light above it.
