Description

This is an early to mid-19th century farmhouse with an attached barn. Constructed of watershot masonry with ashlar quoins, it has a stone slate roof and is arranged as a long range divided into four distinct sections. The first section is a barn, featuring a mistal door with tie-stones, a semi-circular arched cart entry also with tie-stones, and a small window above. The cottage section of the farmhouse is two storeys high. The second section has a doorway with a sill tie and a flat-faced mullioned window of three lights, with a smaller central light, and a further small window above. The third section mirrors this with a similar three-light mullioned window and a five-light window above. The fourth section has a two-light window and a doorway with tie-stones. The first floor has two two-light windows. A quoined angle marks the corner of the building. Clear divisions are visible between each of the four sections. The rear of the building reveals quoins between the third and fourth sections and retains flat-faced mullioned windows of two and four lights. Coped gables with kneelers adorn the roof, and three stacks rise from the ridge.
