Description
Bloomer Gate House is a house that dates back to the early 18th century at the rear, with the south front rebuilt around 1800. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and the south front was originally designed as three single-bay cottages arranged in a double-pile layout. Each cottage has a doorway with monolithic jambs and flat-faced mullioned windows with four lights on each floor, except for the third cottage which has five-light windows. All doorways are currently blocked. The central window has an inserted doorway with a single light on either side.
The rear of the house includes two bays with chamfered mullioned windows, featuring four lights on each floor in the first bay and six lights with a five-light window above in the second bay. The ground floor windows do not have alternate mullions. To the left on the first floor, there is a blocked taking-in door. The left-hand return wall has quoined angles and is attached to a 19th-century barn that is of little interest.
