Description
Lightowlers Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, with some fabric possibly from the 17th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone, with some areas featuring watershot stone, and has a graduated stone slate roof. The building has three bays and two storeys, with quoins at the corners. There is a gabled porch located between the first and second bays, and a blocked door that has been converted into a window in the third bay. The ground floor features two 4-light chamfered mullion windows, while the first floor has windows with 4, 3, and 4 lights, which are double-chamfered with two mullions removed. The cottage has gable chimney stacks and includes a later lean-to addition on the right gable and a wing on the left gable. The rear of the building has various window and door openings, including one double-chamfered mullion window.
