Description

Benthouse Bridge is a road bridge built between 1794 and 1798, designed by engineer William Jessop. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a hump-backed profile. The bridge has an elliptical keystone arch supported by rusticated voussoirs. The parapet wall rises above a decorative band and is topped with round copings and square piers at either end.
