Description
The barn and shippon, likely originally a stable, is located south-east of Old Bent Farmhouse. It dates from 1750, as indicated by the date stone above the door, which reads "I M S 1750" (for John and Mary Stott). The building is constructed of hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. It has quoins and a large central door with a chamfered dressed surround, along with windows on either side. There are dressed owl holes in each gable and kneelers present. Additionally, there is a window opening and a loft hatch at the rear. This structure is included for its group value.
