Description
Ewood Cottages is a row of five cottages, built in 1853. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a stone slate roof. The cottages are two storeys tall and have raised ashlar dressings, including quoins and an eaves band with gutter brackets. The row consists of 11 bays, with each cottage having a doorway topped by a fan-light and a sash window above, along with one additional bay of sash windows that still have 16-pane glazing bars. There are six stacks along the ridge, each with cyma moulded cappings. The left-hand return wall includes small single-light sashes and has a tablet at the apex inscribed with "T R". Attached to the left end of the row is a stable range, also dated 1853.
