Description

This is a former stable building, dating to the mid-19th century, originally part of Ewood Hall and now partly converted into a residence. It forms an L-shape with Ewood Cottages. The barn is constructed from hammer-dressed stone, with a stone slate roof. The design is nearly symmetrical, following an ABCBA pattern. It features two round-arched, rusticated cart entrances, each with a triple keystone, positioned either side of a central gable bay which has a lunette. There are alternating ventilators and circular pitch holes, each incorporating four keystones. A variety of basket-arched doorways are present. The south gable is coped with quoined angles.
