Description
Workhouse Green Farmhouse and the attached barn date back to 1633, with alterations and additions made in the early 19th century. The farmhouse is constructed from dressed stone with a stone slate roof and consists of two storeys and three cells. The south front features a 19th-century flat-faced mullioned window with five lights, along with two first-floor windows above it, each with two lights. There is also a chamfered mullioned window with five lights and a similar window above, as well as a four-light window that has been partly opened to create a doorway, with a corresponding window above. A gable stack is located on the left side of the building.
On the rear, there is a doorway with a dated lintel and a chamfered surround to the left of a 19th-century doorway that has tie-stone jambs. At the first-floor level, quoins mark the end of the original two-cell house. To the left of the door, there is a small arch-headed light with sunken spandrels. The barn has a lower roofline, featuring a semi-circular arched cart entry at the front and a doorway with tie-stone jambs at the rear. The interiors of both the farmhouse and barn have been significantly altered and are featureless.
