Description
Slade Farmhouse, dated 1820, is a house with an attached barn that is initialled and dated "1850". It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The farmhouse is two storeys high, and the barn to the left has a higher roofline than the house. The barn includes a basket-arched cart entry with a simple Venetian window above the lintel that bears the date. To the left of the barn entry, a mistal door has been altered to form a window.
The house itself has two bays of flat-faced mullioned windows. The doorway features a dated lintel and jambs, with a sill tie to the left of a 5-light window, and a 6-light window above it on the first floor. There is also a 2-light window with a 3-light window above it on the first floor. The right-hand return wall of the house has quoins, a coped gable with watershot masonry, and a 2-light window on the first floor. A single stack is present at the ridge.
