Description
Stoodley Edge (North) Farmhouse is a single-cell house built in the early 19th century, with an attached barn added in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. It stands two storeys tall.
The west front has a single-storey gabled outshut that includes a three-light flat-faced mullioned window, which serves as a wash house and protects the main door entry. Above this, there is a three-light window with a sashed window. The rear of the house has an outshut with a five-light window.
The barn features a central basket-arched cart entry with a Venetian window above it, and there are mistal doorways on either side. The gables are coped with kneelers, and there is one stack on the ridge at the division between the house and the barn.
