Description
Popples Close Farmhouse and the attached barn is a mid-18th century laithe-house. It features watershot masonry and a stone slate roof, and is 1½ storeys tall. The farmhouse has a two-cell layout and is double depth, with chamfered mullioned windows that have five and six lights. The barn, located at the left end, includes a segmental arched cart entry and a mistal doorway at the left end. The right-hand return wall of the farmhouse has two 2-light windows in the attic. The building is prominent in the landscape.
