Description

Upper Blind Lane Farmhouse is an early 19th-century house with an attached barn added in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. It stands two storeys high and consists of two cells. The first cell has flat-faced mullioned windows with three lights on each floor, while the second cell has a four-light window with a three-light window above it on the first floor. A gabled porch covers the doorway, which has monolithic jambs and a chamfered surround. The attached barn has a similar doorway.

On the left side, the return wall is back-to-earth and includes a first-floor doorway with tie-stone jambs. The right-hand return wall also has a similar doorway. The rear of the building features a segmental arched cart entry with a square pitching hole above it, and all windows are flat-faced mullioned. The four-light window has an iron girder above it, and there is a five-light window on the first floor. There is an inserted doorway to the left of a cross-window, which is blocked, and a three-light window with a similar window above it on the first floor. The farmhouse has a single stack at the ridge.
