Description
Lower Scout Farmhouse and barn is an early 19th-century terrace of three identical houses and a barn, all in one range. The building is constructed of hammer-dressed stone, with the east gable rendered. It features quoins on the north elevation and a pitched stone slate roof. There are three ashlar stacks with string courses.
On the south elevation, the ground floor has three entrances with stone surrounds and tie-stones, along with three 4-light stone mullioned windows. The first floor contains six 3-light stone mullioned windows. The barn includes an arched barn door with voussoirs and a keystone. The north elevation features continuous two-storey extensions with catslide roofs and various single-light windows. The west gable of the barn has a small window in the apex, which is surrounded by stone and has a semicircular false arch with surrounding tabling.
