Description
The Former St Aidan's Mission Church, located on Bradford Road in Bailiff Bridge, was built around 1884 as a church and day school. It features hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings and a slate roof, designed in an L shape. The building is a single-storey hall with a projecting gabled porch and a two-storey cross-wing. It has three well-formed shaped gables topped with finials. The windows are double chamfered, with mullions and transoms, and include hoodmoulds over groups of four, six, and eight lights. The south gable of the hall has a stepped window, with the lower part modified to serve as a door, featuring an oculus above. The doorway in the side of the porch has moulded jambs and a depressed arch, which is now blocked. There are two stacks, with the one on the cross-wing being lateral and well-formed.
