Description
Holme House is a house built around 1820, constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and features a symmetrical three-bay facade. The building has quoins, a cornice, and a blocking course. The windows are surrounded by plain stone and are sashed with all glazing bars, with the first-floor windows having shutters. A fine cast iron veranda with seven arches and a slate roof extends across the ground floor. The doorway has a later stone surround, and there are two chimney stacks. It is important to note that No. 243 on Wakefield Road was listed in error; the correct listing is for No. 241, which is a different building.
