Description

This is a 5-bay barn located to the northeast of Upper Birkhouse Farmhouse, dating from the 17th century and encasing an earlier aisled barn, which is now single aisled. The barn is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. It has a tall square entry at the arcade plate point, with single-storey extensions under a cat slide roof on either side. Inside, there are posts encased in the external walls that support king post trusses, with some 'V' struts present.
