Description
Greenhurst Hey Old Farmhouse is a house originating from the mid-17th century, with early 19th-century alterations and a rear extension. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a slate roof at the front with stone ridge tiles, while the rear has a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and follows a hearth-passage plan. The original door, located at the right-hand end, has a depressed Tudor arched lintel with composite jambs and a chamfered surround. The first floor retains chamfered mullioned windows. Most of the ground floor details are from the 19th century, except for one window, which is now sashed and has a chamfered surround. The ground floor also includes a doorway with monolithic jambs and a chamfered window that may have originally had five lights. The house has three stacks along the ridge and an additional stack on the rear extension that is set at right angles.
