Description

This is a barn located to the east of Lower Winsley Farmhouse, dating from the early 17th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof with coped gables and kneelers that match those of the farmhouse, suggesting they were built around the same time. The barn has three bays and is half-aisled at the southern end. Notable architectural features include a heavy square lintel with composite jambs and a chamfered surround for the cart entry, as well as a doorway at a lower level leading to the mistal.
