Description

Hall Stones Farmhouse is a house dated 1647. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof, and features quoins. The house has two storeys and a three-room front. The ground floor windows are double-chamfered mullioned, while the first-floor windows also have chamfered mullions. Ground floor windows include a four-light window with a king mullion, a two-light window above it; a four-light window (lacking two mullions) with a similar window above; and a three-light window with one above (both lacking mullions). To the left is an added bay built of rubble stone, containing a doorway with monolithic jambs, and a two-light window above. The gables are coped with moulded kneelers and ball finials. The right-hand return wall features a gable-entry doorway with large jambs, tie-stones, and a chamfered surround; the lintel bears a date set within a tressure.
