Description

Killup Farmhouse is an early 18th-century house with an attached barn, situated in Todmorden. The farmhouse has a single-aisle or outshut to the rear, and the barn was added in the early 19th century. The house is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof. The two-storey front of the farmhouse faces south-west and features chamfered mullioned windows, many of which lack their original mullions. The front façade displays a four-light window above a five-light window, an altered six-light window above a two-light window. The house has quoins and kneeler stones. A large, stepped window, formerly of six lights with a king mullion and six transomed lights above, was taken from the barn. The barn entrance is a cart entry with a large, heavy lintel and composite jambs, also with quoins. The rear of the farmhouse includes a six-light window with a king mullion to the outshut. There are two stacks located along the ridge. The house is said to contain a fireplace of some distinction.
